Factory reset time capsule model a1409

I can't figure out how to factory reset my Time Capsule. I think all of the instructions I'm seeing are for Airport Base Stations, not my humble old 2tb Time Capsule.

I've tried holding the reset button before plugging it in to power and it doesn't do anything. I can feel the hard drive spinning inside and when it's connected into my Airport via ethernet cable, the light is solid amber.

Any advice?

Unfortunately, a solid amber light indicates that there is a power supply or board problem with the Time Capsule......and it will not be possible to perform a Factory Default Reset or Hard Reset on the Time Capsule.

This would not be unusual on a Time Capsule that is at least 8 years old and as much as 10+, as your 4th Gen A1409 model is.

If you need the data stored on the Time Caspule hard drive, you can open up the device and pull out the hard drive and place it in a caddy or enclosure and connect that to your Mac.

In other words, repairs to the Time Capsule are not really feasible since the hard drive inside the Time Capsule is frankly way overdue to fail as well.
