Digital Booklet Files with iTunes Purchase Are Corrupt and Not in Library

Has anyone else encountered a problem with digital booklets that came with an iTunes purchase as a PDF file that is now corrupted and won't open? And the pdf file is not in my Purchased history so I cannot re-download it.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.2

Never found out how the files became corrupted, or how to retrieve copies of the files on my own. But with the help of Apple Support, I was able to get the files. Apple Support was able to "re-grant" the purchase (you will need to provide the purchase date, which should be retrievable from the Music app by right clicking on a song and selecting Get Info; you will find the Purchase Date in the File tab). Once they have done that, go to your Music app and select Account/Check for Available Downloads. The original files from your purchase will re-download into your iTunes Media/Music folder. I hope this information will be helpful to anyone else who has this issue.

Hi ChrisSOracle,

It looks like you're having issues with files included with your purchase in iTunes. If that's the case, which device is this happening on, a Mac?

If you're having the issue using a Mac, let's try booting to safe mode and see if the files work there.

How to use safe mode on your Mac

This will boot only the resources needed for macOS to run properly.

Cheers.

Hi chris_g1, thanks for the response. I did try that but it did not solve the problem. Let me give you some more context. I purchased an 'album' from iTunes several years, and a couple Macs ago. While cleaning up my Apple Music library I came across some albums that included a digital booklet, but could not find them the Apple Music library. They are in my User/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music/Artist/Album folders, as shown below (for some reason they imported into separate folders):

When I try to open the PDF file, I get this error:

I can't go back to iTunes and re-download the booklet because it is not listed in my purchases:

However, in iTunes, the booklet is listed as part of the album purchase:

I spent a couple hours on the phone with a Senior Apple Advisor trying to resolve this but they could not, so I thought I would reach out to the community to see if anyone might be able to offer a solution.
