hand washing on apple watch SE

i’m unable to get the hand washing feature to work on my apple watch. I turned it on using both my phone and my apple watch and i’ve tried it about 5 times. I’ve reset my watch, turned on and off the hand washing feature and nothing seems to work. i just bought this watch on friday and revived it today so i’m not sure what the problem is. I also have fully updated my watch.
