how can I update El Capitan 10.11?

Hi, I use Cricut Design Space and unfortunately, after an update, DS says it no longer support my Mac. because its an older version. I have tried updating and still no luck. I would hate to have to get a new computer just to use the new features on Design Space ( I need for my small biz). How can I fix this issue?

Upgrading El Capitan I have a very old mac from 2010 running OS X El Capitan V 10.11.6. The mac has an Intel core i3 processor. apparently I can't upgrade to macOS Big Sur because I have a macOS Sierra Mid 2011 version I just realized I need to update my computer to the very latest version for my iMac in order to continue with my online business. I have checked for updates in the past and it says there are none. I did not realize I won't get updates because my computer is so old. Of course...I can not afford a new desk top at this time. Does anyone know how I can skirt around this issue and get the latest version without having to purchase another one? My on-line business is my only source of extra income even though it has been quite slow this past several months. Thank you for any help La

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and if your Mac model is recent enough, click on High Sierra, Mojave, Catalina, or Big Sur. If not, you'd need to buy one which is.
