Transferring from android to new iphone

I bought my mum a new iPhone and although my brother set up the ‘move to iso’ app on her android phone it hasn’t appeared to work and she’s lost her contacts and photos. What’s the best thing to do? :-( the SIM card from the android has been used in the new iPhone.

If you’ve tried the Move to iOS app on Android, you can actually transfer contacts via your SIM card to your new iPhone.

On your Android device, launch your Contacts app, tap on the menu button, and navigate to Settings. Find the Import/Export setting and tap it.
Tap the Export button. Then choose to export to the SIM card.
When the export is complete, remove the SIM card from your Android phone and insert it into your iPhone.
On the iPhone, tap the Settings app to open it.
Tap Contacts (on some older versions of the iOS, this is Mail, Contacts, Calendars).
Tap Import SIM Contacts.

Thank you for your suggestion. I will pass that on. I think the issue may be that because she already started the process her old phone may not work now so it may not be possible to start again - or will it be ok?
