Permanently disable Live Photo.

I need to permanently disable Live Photo. I have already changed the settings so the it "saves" Live Photo in the off condition. That works until you accidentally hit the Live Photo icon on the iPhone screen and then everything shot from that point until you realize it's on is trash. Today I dumped over 500 photos because at some point during the day, I bumped Live Photo on. I understand you can convert them to still photos, but they still carry all the extra memory and with the huge number of photos I take, I need all the memory I can get, so converting the photos is a non-starter. How can I get Apple to understand that this feature is annoying for A LOT of people and A LOT of people would permanently disable it if given the opportunity.
