Webclip default settings?

Our office uses a webclip (created via Jamf) for our cloud based EMR. Obviously, you could just open Safari and browse to the our cloud based EMR, but I wanted to add the extra real estate by removing the Navigation UI and just make it easier on users. However, there is an issue with a snippet type feature of the app (it is called up by typing a . "period" followed by a custom label that has a body of text associated with it and when you hit enter it replaces the ".label" with the associated body of text. The issue is that when using the regular Safari app (not the Webclip), this snippet feature just occasionally doesn't work there. To date, it has always worked in the Webclip.

So my question is... does anyone know what, if/any, Safari browser settings are altered when you create a webclip. I can't image it is merely chance that this feature has only ever messed up while using the Safari app. I am assuming there is something on or off by default in Safari when launching via webclip that may be different when using Safari app that could be causing it. Any thoughts?
