"Can't be opened right now"

I'm trying to open a Numbers file (spreadsheet) which I've opened and closed all morning long. And, now it will not open and this message pops up on the screen:

"____name of file.....can't be opened right now"

'Operation not permitted"

Please, what do I do to get this file back?
