With my Brother printer it works for one print via AirPrint, then stops and is offline. System preferences says it is in use. The printer proxy window says it is offline and the MacBook Pro computer is looking for the printer. Just updated the OS. How can I fix this?

It would be the best place to start isolating the cause of what's happening. The router could simply need to be power cycled or it could even be a setting on the router itself. Has the device already been unplugged from the power and then plugged back in? Also, what is the router manufacturer?

thanks for the suggestions. I reviewed that list, but none of them work.
I deleted the printer again and now it doesn't show up as an option to add either.
It does work with USB connection but I'd like to use AirPrint, and print from phones and other computers.
I wonder if other users of Brother have had issues of this type?

question: when attempting to AirPrint on my iPhone 11 Pro Max in the Brother print and scan app it says "cannot connect" Below that there is a prompt telling me to "check that the wi-fi access point/router's "privacy separator" option is "disabled".
Not sure how or where to do that, but perhaps I should pursue this?
