Screen capture from iPhone 12 on MacOS Big Sure with QuickTime Player

When I connect my iPhone to my Macbook the option to select my iPhone as a source to screen record is not available. I reset my iPhone's privacy settings to "Trust" my computer and allowed QuickTime to screen record in my system preferences however the issue persists. I am in MacOS Big Sur 11.2.3 and the most recent iOS 14 update.

Greetings, johnmtlnd.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you’re having a hard time capturing your iPhone using QuickTime. We can understand why you’d want a resolution.

To clarify, are you unable to see your iPhone in your Finder at all? If so, check out: If your device doesn’t appear in the sidebar when connected to Mac

If you’re only having issues with your iPhone being seen in QuickTime, check out: Record a movie in QuickTime Player on Mac

We hope this helps. Don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.

Sincerely.
