HDCP Error while playing Apple TV on my M1 MacBook Pro

I tried playing a rented movie on the Apple TV app on my new M1 MacBook Pro and I go this error of HDCP essentially meaning that my MacBook display is not HDCP compliant. Is there any solution to this issue as it would mean I can't play Apple TV on my M1 MacBook Pro?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 11.2

  • Make sure that any screen capturing/screen sharing/screen recording software or device is disabled.
  • Try with any external peripherals disconnected.
  • Try in Safe Mode, to temporarily disable third party startup items and other non-essentials. How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Else contact Apple Support in case it is related to a hardware issue.
