Hi,

thanks for your reply,

I am aware of the difference between iPhone and iCloud storages , the problem is that, optimized iphone storage is turned on, also iCloud photo is enabled, i had tried to reboot as well, but none of them worked out.

moreover, below the “apps using icloud” all shown apps were checked, I have just unchecked most of them.

I have attached screenshots for clarification.

iCloud Storage and iPhone Storage are two different things.

iCloud Storage is in the cloud, where you can store photos, files, messages, backup etc. So not physically on your iPhone.

Storage space on the iPhone is the storage space that is built into your phone. For example 64GB, 128GB etc.

If your iPhone reports Storage Full, start by seeing which apps take up space by going to:

Settings -> General -> iPhone Storage

The list is built so that the apps that take up the most space are at the top.

You can also enable Optimized Storage for your Photos. This means that your iPhone saves a smaller version of your photos so that they do not take up as much space on your iPhone. The original photos are stored in iCloud, and there you can make use of the extra storage space you have purchased.

To turn on optimized iPhone Storage, go to:

Settings -> Photos. Checkmark in Optimized iPhone Storage. Also remember to enable iCloud Photo. When the pictures need to be charged, remember to be connected to WiFi and a charger.

Also try rebooting your phone, it clears up the cache memory and can also free up space.

The apps that are connected to iCloud will still take up space on the phone.

If your iPhone reports that it is running out of space, then there is only one way to fix it. Go to iPhone Storage and clear out the apps that are filling up. Just like you can also look in the Files app, for large files.

Also remember that the pictures are only uploaded when the phone is on WiFi and connected to a charger.

The apps that connect to iCloud do NOT connect to save space on your device. The app connects to iCloud, to store information, so if one day, ex. you delete your entire phone, lose it or otherwise do not have access to your phone, then you can just download those apps again, log in with your Apple ID, and the same information is ready for you - because it is stored in iCloud.

The biggest benefit of buying space in iCloud is to store photos in the Photos app, or files in the Files app. If you know DropBox or OneDrive, then iCloud is almost the same. A place you can store your stuff. Where iCloud is smarter than other Cloud services is that it works across the system, so contacts, calendars, notes, passwords, messages etc etc are automatically saved.
