printer from macbookpro not responding

Hello. My Macbookpro cannected by wi-fi to HP photosmart 5230 printer - continually gets message "Printer not responding". Yet my husband can print from his iPad. Have tried all sorts to no effect. Suggestions very welcome! Elizabeth

Try restarting Router/Modem, Mac and the printer.
