Why are my AirPods Pro showing as 2 separate Bluetooth device? One for the left and one for the right AirPod. When I try to connect sound only plays on one of the AirPods one at a time.

Why are my Air Pods Pro showing as 2 separate Bluetooth devices? One for the left AirPod and one for the right AirPod? It says both are connected but only one AirPod plays at a time.

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand that your AirPods are appearing as two separate devices, instead of coupling as one pair. We're happy to provide some assistance.


Did you recently replace an AirPod? If so, check out the steps outlined in this helpful article to see if it can lead to a solution: Set up your replacement AirPods or charging case


If you did not recently replace an AirPod, we'd like to have you forget both instances of the AirPods on your companion iPhone by going to Settings > Bluetooth > AirPods > Tap the 'i' > Forget this Device. Once they are both removed, follow the steps here to pair them again: Connect and use your AirPods and AirPods Pro
