Safari quitting instantly

Hello!


I have tried to use my MacBook Pro this evening and suddenly I am unable to use Safari. If I click on Safari, it briefly flashes up and then within a second, shows the following error message, followed by pages of ‘thread’ details. What can I do? Grateful for any ideas.

Startup in Safe Mode:    https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

    To exit Safe Mode, click  in the menu bar and choose “Restart”.

Launch Safari holding the shift key down.

Thank you. I have tried everything stated in the article to no avail. I spent over two hours on chat last night with a member of the Apple help team. Still can’t get into Safari, other than to view Apple pages or Google Chrome for some reason. If I try to open a meeting page using the ‘+’ icon, Safari crashes. Sooooo frustrating. At my wits end as need this for work! Grateful for any help. Thank you. Fiona

Are you running any anti - virus programs? Using a VPN?


Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
