No playback on apps

Hi,I’m having problems getting the installed apps to work,Netflix,Disney+ etc. It just keeps saying HDCP error connect straight to your tv(which it is). I’m using a Belkin HDMI & everything was ok last time I used it. Tried different hdmi ports but still same. I’ve also noticed it keeps changing resolution back to 720p when I go into settings. Can’t seem to find the 4K option anymore which I’m sure there was when I first set it up!!!!

Hello Turtle Boy,

Thanks for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, you are getting an HDCP error when playing content on apps using your Apple TV. We can understand why you'd reach out for a solution.

Here is a resource that can help from the Netflix website.

I'm getting an HDCP error on my Apple TV

Try these steps:

"Netflix might not be playing because of an issue related to digital copy protection. To resolve the issue:

  1. Make sure that you're using an HDMI cable.
  2. Connect your device directly to your TV.
  3. Try reversing the ends of the HDMI cable.
  4. Try a new HDMI cable.
  5. Try another HDMI port on your TV.
  6. If available, try an HDMI port on another TV.
    • If you can stream on another TV, there may be an issue with the HDMI port on the original TV. Contact the TV manufacturer for help."

Cheers!
