Mac Book Pro with T2 chip Data Recovery

Recently My MacBook Pro suddenly stopped working with total loss of power at 1.5years.

No power was present on the board and the service center informed me that they were also unable to power up the logic board out side the machine. No liquid damage no corrosion (no explanation as to the reason for total power loss)

I was aware that MBP with soldered SSD have a device for data recovery.

I have however been informed by my apple service center (Singapore) that data recovery is impossible even with this tool on MBP's with a T2 chip. Is this really true?

I have been painted a picture whereby the the T2 chip would prevent any and all data recovery due to the "encryption". Its been stated that similar to iphones that codes are not even known to apple.

Would really welcome the communities feed back on this as it has profound implications for me as I have lost a substantial amount of data. (I understand about regular back ups but this is another thread that I may need to start)

Thank you for all the help in advance

@AnnieL2's advice is correct as a professional data recovery service is the only possibility of data recovery unless you have an independent repair shop that specializes in board level repairs perform the repair to revive your laptop's Logic Board, but even then it may not always be possible to save the data. Plus if you have a 2019+ model, then that may not even be a possibility since those shops won't have any access to donor parts (Apple prevents repair shops from accessing the necessary components to perform board level repairs so these shops must go dumpster diving to attempt to find the necessary components). I checked the one website that I trust and they don't provide any estimates for a 2019 laptop. You can search "rossmann repair" and contact them to see they can work on your laptop, but be aware that Apple may decline service afterwards.

There is no special connector on the Logic Boards of T2 systems like there was on the T1 systems (2016-2017).

You should always have frequent and regular backups. It is impossible to recover accidentally deleted data from an SSD after the Trash has been emptied.

Greetings DrMahendran,

We understand that you have some questions about possible data transfer or data recovery from your Mac.

The backup, transfer, or recovery of data is solely the responsibility of the owner and Apple doesn't offer data recovery as a service. If possible, an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider might offer data-transfer services for a fee. If data transfer isn't an option based on the hardware issue, then you'd be looking at data recovery. As we mentioned, Apple does not offer that as a service, though here are the names and links to a couple major companies that do offer it for your region and there may be others you can find in your local directory.

Thanks.
