I had paid someone who didn’t know how to use Apple Pay correctly, so their money I owed them ended up expiring. I never received the money back, and my back debited it, never crediting me. I do not have anything on my Apple Card. My recipient would like to be paid, but I would also like my money back before I pay them! What do I do?

this was back a month ago. I never received the refund. It’s just now being brought to my attention that the person never got paid. So went to see in my account, and I never received a credit.
