It's a known issue that the 2017 models aren't covered in the repair program for the display. I'll need to get it fixed when I'm back in the US. But I've just had the worse experience with this particular model.
1) Battery swelling
2) Some keys don't work
3) Display flickered and died as it got hot
I wonder if it's even worth fixing it at all. Any advice?
Apple has multiple free repair programs for these USB-C Apple laptops. There is a free Keyboard repair program:

The advantage is that the battery is part of the Top Case/Keyboard Assembly so that part of the repair should be free if the laptop is less than four years old and qualifies for the keyboard repair program. Unfortunately you will need to pay for the display repair.

I've never had so many problems in a single Mac before and I've owned Apple portables since the Powerbook series. This 2017 MBP has really disappointed me.
Being overseas makes it a bit harder to go to an Apple Store. I'm willing to buy a new MBP but am scared about the new changes.
