Does higher RAM resolve overheating issue?
I wonder if buying MacBook air with 16 GB Memory (GAM) would resolve a little bit of overheating issues
MacBook Air (2020 or later)

16GB of RAM vs 8GB RAM will help tasks that are RAM hungry such as gaming or media editing and renditioning. More RAM means less accessing of the SDD which can and do generate heat. Your method is a very indirect way of reducing heat generation. The MacBook Air has means to dissipate heat other than using the amount of RAM.
FYI - I have the M1 MacBook Air with 8GB RAM and it has no built-in fan. It is engineered so well that, in my experience, it has not even gotten warm to notice. I do not play games on it however I generally have about 10 tabs open in Safari, at least three applications open from the MS Office suite, Music app, photos app and the calendar app. I also have those apps open in multiple screens. I switch between most of these as needed. Note, that I have nothing external attached to my M1 MacBook Air.
