This seems to be similar to issues others are having after the Safari 14.1 update 4/27/2021 that was part of the Catalina 10.15.7 update and it relates to JavaScript.

Test the following:

Turn off “Enable Javascript” in Safari: Preferences: Security

See if this resolves the the issue loading pages

This is not a solution since pages are only partially complete and lacks any Javascript functionality.

I am still searching for a fix.

Bottom Line: At this point this is most likely an Apple bug/issue related to 14.1 and they need to offer a fix other than an OSX reinstall and that reminds me of the #1 Microsoft Windows issue solution!

I've just installed Safari 14.1 on a MBP running Mojave after the OS suggested the update along with a Security update and have the same problem, Ebay and several other sites constantly failing to load pages and throwing out requests to reload. Your suggestion is to re-install the OS because Apple broke the browser? What is that based on ? It would seem better to just use Chrome or Firefox until Apple figures out what they broke.

Installed the new build and websites seem to be working fine now. Glad I held off on restoring from time machine. Apple needs to do better to let people know that they F’d up. The support advisor I talked to about this two days ago didn’t have a clue even though the broken safari build had been dropped from the security update.

Try opening System Preferences » Software Update, and then clicking the "Advanced…" button. If that doesn't help, then install Howard Oakley's amazingly helpful "SilentKnight" and "SystHist" utilities, and use them to determine what system updates have already been installed (SystHist), and what newer updates have been released but not yet installed (SilentKnight).

Note also that you may find it worthwhile to disable automatic installation of macOS security updates, assuming you're diligent about checking for the release of new ones.

djogon, My reply was in no way rubbing in the fact that you still have an problem without a solution. Just that Apple is aware of the issue as they have pulled the faulty Safari update, and that it will be rectified soon. I do however have a potential solution for future use. As I have discovered, through much dismay in the last 5 years, Apple is not reliable in their public releases as much as they used to be. I would suggest that people shut off automatic updates and wait a minimum of two days before they update anything. This has aided me in the past, and just helped me again with this lame Safari release... soon to be re-released.
