Photo clarity is poor in Photo Booth App

Photo Booth App is grainy, clarity of photos is not up to the mark. (without applying any effects)

Are there any settings to be tweaked ?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.2

While the camera on Macs is geared towards FaceTime rather than taking photos, I've had fairly decent results when there is a good amount of light against my face.

When I need better quality portraits, I'll grab my iPhone instead.
