I got it working today, not quite sure what happened but I looked it up on the forums for my car and it said to cycle the radio system by clicking the volume button to mute the radio and then clicking it again and holding it for 10 seconds. Then letting go and if see the car logo and the whole system would reboot and then after that it worked fine. It’s a 2017 Porsche Macan. Not sure if that will be the same for yours. Hope you get it figured out!

The fix from sakwut didn’t work for me but the fix from crumirid787 did partially work.

I reset the car radio (by holding down the volume button for 10 seconds) and restarted my iPhone SE 2020.

I can use Siri again and Siri is no longer cut off after a few syllables.

HOWEVER, I say partially worked because after I did this, I sent myself several texts.

NONE came up on the CarPlay screen. When I ask Siri to play the last text message, it played a message from before the car radio/iphone reset. It no longer recognizes new text messages. What a pain! I hope this is fixed in the next phone iOS update really soon. I guess a partial fix is better than nothing, but remember, THIS USED TO WORK!

I had this issue too, tried all the tricks listed here none worked. Here is what I did and it eliminated the issue.

1) log onto itunes make sure it is updated

2) You will notice none of your apple music is on itunes.

3) Turn off sync on the phone, this is scary - all music will disappear.

4) while phone is connected to itunes click on "account" this opens the cloud based Apple music account.

5) Go through each playlist or download - upper right corner click the 3 dots ... download should appear. As it ACTUALLY downloads all the clouds next to each song will go away. Now the music is actually on the phone

Once all is downloaded, sync in itunes. to verify check the phone under General - iphone storage. If the music downloaded media will appear in the memory use bar. Try this also before you start, there will be very little there if this is your problem and significantly more once you download the full song.

Bottom line, download as much as you want on the phone using wifi but you must go back and really download on itunes

another apple FUBAR.

Hope it help, good luck

It seems that "downloading" on the phone is not really on the phone, it is to the apple music cloud. Using it with carplay and cellular off ( racked up 7 GB data with it on) the phone is trying to get to the cloud to select your song. it may play a few seconds of a cache on the phone and cut out because the cloud connection is not working.

Once I did this the issue went away and carplay was stable, all functions worked just fine.
