Using an external mic when in clamshell Mode

Hi Everyone,

Can I use an external USB mic while my Macbook Air M1 whilst is in clamshell mode from what I have read the answer is no. I can use my Airpods but the only last about 3 and a half hours which isn't great when you are using them for dictation and phone calls any help would be great?

Thanks

When in clamshell mode, you can use a wired headphones w/ microphone as well. You can use the Audio Out port of your MacBook Air to connect them. And YES, you can use a USB Microphone as well. The only microphone that does not work in clamshell mode is the MacBook Air's internal microphone.
