iPad mini 4 lag and ghosting when plugged in

I am suddenly having terrible lag on my iPad mini 4 when it is plugged in to the charger. So it is not registered touches, or registering too many (like typing multiple letters when using keyboard). This happens only if it is plugged in to mains but not when plugged in to my Mac USB port. I have used both the Apple charger cable and an Ankar one and same thing. I have tried it on a multiplug with a usb charger socket, and also using the Apple mains adaptor and both result in lag.

Running OS 14.4.1

Anyone know why this is happening? It is annoying to have to charge the iPad only on my Mac if I want to use it at the same time (I play MMO games and they drain the battery very quickly so often has to be plugged in while I play).

About Apple USB power adapters - Apple Support -- Since it only happens when you've plugged your iPad into the wall, which adapter are you using? Do you notice the lag using other apps as well? If you have any other devices, does the issue also happen with them?
