Sony WH-1000 XM2 headphones and iTunes

I have some quite expensive Sony bluetooth headphones (WH-1000 XM2). Worked fine, till we got some new update, untill Apple introduced their very very expensive wireless headphones. And now the Sony doesn't produce any sound. Not on the MacBook, not on the iPad, not on the iPhone, all recent machines. No coincidence, I suppose. The so-called Bluestack solution by Google/Android is no good (just a comercial boobytrap to entice you into the android games world). So how do I get sound from my headphones using bluetooth? Any suggestions?
