Apple Mail keeps opening the last read email instead of going to the inbox - STILL

The only work-around that I have found for this is to make sure you close the app while in the inbox.

I think it does this by default as a way to help you. If you would prefer to see your "All Inboxes" list then, after reading an email, tap the "< All Inboxes" link on the top left of your screen.
