I too had this problem. I spent a day trying to recover my Ipassword data after the 14.5.1 update. Checked with Apple which was a dead end, surfed the internet for solutions and finally came up with one that worked for me. I downloaded the trial version of iMazing software which extracted the iPassword software/data which I was able to install on an old phone that I have.
I did have to go into my purchases in the App store with the old iphone 5 and download iPassword from there as it no longer shows up in the general app store list. Once I had iPassword on my iphone 5 iMazing populated the password data from the backup I made from my iphone XS. I downloaded the iMazing software from their website rather than on CNet or other aggregators of software online, seemed less sketchy to me, plus, there are tutorials on their website. . Anyway, the free version worked for me, I'm thinking of buying it just to support the company for saving me the headache of resetting all of those passwords.
Pretty unacceptable that an update would brick software that's so mission critical without warning. Maybe Apple could write into iOS updates a list of software that would become incompatible before the update is installed? Then users can make sure they have a backup of their data.
You would need an older phone or iPad or any device that had iOS pre 14.5. It’s definitely do able took me about 30 minutes and I didn’t have an original backup
I do but you will need an iOS device pre 14.5. Old iPhone or iPad
it is not there but go to your purchased apps on itunes and you can download it from there
it worked for me on my Ipad
On here there’s a solution using the imazing program and an old phone that hasn’t been updated - it worked for me

TNTDoc's method worked for us. No need for an old device. Note that the "new iPassword app" is "Password Manager" in the App Store.
I switched to the free version of Bitwarden. No complaints, I am happy with it.
A good start would be to read this thread.
There are several threads about this. Someone has already tried to contact them and said the email was dead. That’s my next move.
However, having been a developer of systems for many years, it is inexcusable that a developer would let an app that contains very valuable data simply go dead. I have 10 years of passwords, pins and much unrecoverable data buried in this app. They could have at least built in a way to transfer the data, even to a readable .txt file would help. It’s sitting in iCloud and no way to get to it. I don’t have much hope they will be very responsive.
I am also having the same problem with iPassword! I have years of passwords saved in the iPassword app which I had paid for ad free. Now I cannot access any of the data. I am furious with both apple and the developer that this has happened with now prior notice so I could download my data to protect it.
Having the same issue. I tried to restore to a previous version, Apple Care said there is no way to go back. I will keep following. I want to throw up. I started a list of passwords, but this is going to be such a pain. I tried contacting CNET to see if they have any history on the developer.
iMazing is not in App Store. Google will take you to its web site. Reggie, iMazing is an app that some have been able to use to recover passwords lost when iPassword quit working. They have posted instructions above.
I have sent out a DM to the developer. I also have years of passwords I can’t access. The developer’ s contact support link points to his Twitter account. I was able to see his support link in his newer app.
Has anyone attempted to simply restore their ipone to the last version of IOS (14.4) Mine was working then, but not now. Wondering if it will work. I'm so annoyed with this. Fortunately, you can see a good amount of your PWs in you Password section on iphone, if you have used the phone to sign in to them. Painstaking, to be sure, but it's something.
I didn’t have an issue with my phone password or my iPassword. I had those memorized.
I’m pretty sure I updated just the password app, I backed up the iPassword data to my desktop then selected only that. The iMazing software can replace everything or just one app. Depends on what you told it to do. Either way it didn’t matter because the old phone was used for password recovery and nothing else.
Also, using iMazing I was able to recover everything because it extracted the latest data from my 14.5.1 phone which I stupidly hadn’t backed up for about 5 months.
