The NIKON Scan CD is not readable in my iMac (High Sierra, 10.13.6) nor on my MacBook Pro. Image Capture does not identify the Coolscan 5000 as a device. Nikon USA has not responded to my inquiry.
Does anyone have a suggestion for software that will work?

I have the same scanner. The Nikon scanner (software) will not work on 10.13.6. There is no work around.
You will need to use either Vuescan or Silverfast scanning software.

+1 for Vuescan, you can download a free demo sample that will work with your scanner. Once you are convinced then just buy the app from Vuescan.
