upgrade operating system on iPad

If you're asking about your iPad Pro 9.7-inch WiFi, it isn't obsolete and can run the current iOS 14.

If you're asking about an iPad that truly is obsolete, you cannot upgrade beyond the highest iOS supported by that device. There are no "workarounds."

The updates is depended on the iPad model from iOS 5.1.1, iOS 9.3.5/9.3.6, iOS 10.3.3/iOS 10.3.4, iOS 12.5.2 to iPadOS 14.5.
