What can I do if media turns green?

Make sure that your software is as updated as you can make it.
Do the deleting preferences procedure. Open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if you can export without green frames. Deleting preferences is a safe procedure that will not cause data loss or disruption to your project.
If no luck, try doing an Edit/Copy, Edit/Paste, of the media in your project into a newly created project. Share out from the new project and see if that solves the problem.
If the frames to which you are referring are still images, try opening them in the Preview app on your Mac and clicking on Tools/Adjust Size. Reduce the long dimension of the still image to under 4000, say 2500. See if that cures the issue.
If the frames are video, rather than still, try reducing the resolution a bit. You can open them in QuickTimePlayer and export them out at a lower resolution, then import them back into iMovie.
Also, it might be that there is some corruption in the troublesome clips, or they are in a format that is not compatible with iMovie. You can cut the clips out of your project, or change the formats.
For safety, work with a duplicate of your project.
