unable to add my aol account to the mail application

I would start by contacting aol since they can't verify your account.

I'm following this as I've hit exactly the same problem. I accessed aol support by twitter, and got lots of helpful hints but none of them worked - not even using an app specified password. So I - and aol - seem stumped. The twitter agent simply ended up saying to ask apple.
