How do I stop Music from auto-playing songs when importing?

There is a thread on this from 2009 that suggests the only way to accomplish this is to revert to an older version of iTunes, and turn off auto-play before you do any updates. (BTW - this has nothing to do with browser settings in Safari to auto-open safe files, as some suggested. I do not have that active.)

Why is there no longer a preference setting for this in Music 2021?

I just want to batch import a bunch of CD's without it starting to play the first import from every CD. How do I stop the madness?
