If I use a thunderbolt earpod with my iPhone 6s, will it use the dac/amp of the earpod or the iPhone 6s

Hi. To my knowledge, the thunderbolt earpod has a dedicated dac and amp. So if I were to use it with my iPhone 6s which also has its own dac and amp, which dac and amp will be used to process the sound I hear
