slow mouse speed out of a sudden

Hello,

I’m using a 16gb m1 pro model and was playing a game while all of the sudden the mouse speed slowed down. I thought might have been the game, but apparently not. After closing it and rebooting the laptop mouse speed is still a real pain. I put the tracking speed to max but it’s still slow. It’s usable, but in respects to before, there is like half the speed even when using it in a normal app like safari or just moving it around the desktop. It’s agony. Anyone experiencing the same?

Thanks for reaching out through the Apple Support Communities about that delay with your Mac.

To clarify, is this happening with the trackpad, an external mouse, or both?

Does that still continue if you shutdown your Mac, as opposed to restarting? Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac

How about if you test that behavior while in safe mode? How to use safe mode on your Mac

Hopefully those steps help further isolate that behavior.
