Device: iPhone 8, iOS 14.5.1, 24 months old, 91% Max Capacity, Battery Cycle Count 795
I mostly keep my device charged between 50-75 percent each day for the last 2 years.
I thought 80% Max Capacity equated to roughly 500 Battery Cycle Counts but my device is showing 795 for the cycle count. Did the iOS misreport the device's battery cycle count (795)?

I'm curious exactly where you found 795 reported on your phone? If you used an App, I wouldn't trust it all and it's actually not easy to find the battery charge cycles as you to have to copy and paste analytics to find the reading.
You'll have to ask Apple for guidance on this. As mentioned, it's not exactly easy to get the battery charge cycles.
Your battery health for a 2 year old phone at 91% is pretty good at this stage of its life.
I pulled the battery cycle count from the analytics log under settings/privacy/analytics and improvements/analytics data in iOS 14.5.1.

Again, you need Apple to interpret that.
Is this Battery Cycle Count (795) misreported by the iOS based on the Max Capacity (91%)?
