Webpages not loading

Following a security update lots of websites with passwords won't load, bank, yahoo mail, The Times newspaper...unchecking "Prevent Cross Site Tracking" in Preferences did NOT solve the issue

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.14

I have posted a summary on the recent situation that caused page load issues this week with Safari, workarounds  and an updated solution. It relates to a recent update of Safari that prevents some webpages from loading properly. Scroll to the end for a recent update and summary.

There is nothing suspicious installed on your Mac.

Battery needs to be serviced. I am not sure that will cause this particular issue.

Try suggestions given in this article. https://support.apple.com/guide/safari/if-you-cant-open-a-website-ibrw1071/mac


I would contact Apple support.

Click inside the box to choose an option.

      If this doesn’t help:

      Download EtreCheck, run it to see if there is any adware installed or not.

      https://etrecheck.com

      Click  “Free download” button,

      Open Downloads folder, click on it to open, and then select ”Open”.

      “Choose a problem” from the popup menu box, and then “Start EtreCheck” in the dialog.

      Click “Share Report” button in the toolbar, select “Copy report” .

      Paste the report when you reply.

      Note: This is a diagnostic test.
