If you change iMessage history on 1 device, will that delete history on another?

If I change history for iMessage on my iPad to 30 days will that delete messages older than 30 days on my iPhone which is set to 1 year?

Yes, it will if Messages in iCloud is on: Use Messages in iCloud.
