AirPods Max - audio delay while using Final Cut Pro

I edit using Final Cut Pro. I started using my AirPods Max while editing and discovered that although my audio / video syncs up while listening through headphones, when I watch the final product without headphones, the audio is about 1 second off from the video. So, there must be a slight delay using bluetooth from my laptop and I'm editing to cues that are ever so slightly delayed. Anyone encounter this? Suggestions on how to correct this audio delay? Thank you in advance.

Let Apple know what you want:

although I am not sure how they would address this issue, as they would need to somehow delay the video to match the lag in the bluetooth transmission.

As Tom Wolksy said, the easiest solution is to switch to a hardwire connection ( it the AirPod Max has such a thing) and avoid the whole issue.

I use Apple Beats Solo3 headphones when editing on location. They are bluetooth enabled but also support a direct hardwire connection which I switch to when editing.

I get that bluetooth may have a lag but I find it hard to believe Apple's flagship headphones and flagship, industry leading video editing software can't be used together because Apple hasn't figured out a way to properly precisely sync the video and audio. I'm not saying you're wrong, but it seems like something apple, in their usual brilliance, would have figured how to compensate via a setting in the software somewhere.
