Allowing apps to track my activity

I noticed that the allow apps to track is off by default. Does this mean that apps are automatically disallowed or do I have to turn it on and then disallow them individually?

Also, since i use Safari to do Facebook will it be denied tracking or do I have to use its app to disallow tracking?

If "allow apps to track" is off, then they should be blocked by default (including the facebook app).

The facebook website is a different matter, but many cross-site tracking methods can be blocked in the newer versions of safari. You can turn off cross-site tracking by going to Settings > Safari > Privacy and Security > Prevent Cross-Site Tracking. There's also a safari setting that blocks some fraud and phishing. You can ensure it's enabled on your device by going to Settings > Safari > Privacy and Security and flipping the toggle next to Fraudulent Website Warning into the On position.
