MacBook air M1 and HP Color Laserjet scanner function

I have a MacBook air M1 and can't get my HP Color LaserJet MFP M281fdw scanner to function. When I press "Open scanner" nothing happens.

Printing is ok, without problems.

From my Mac Mini (not M1), both print and scan function is ok.

I also have checked that my HP Color LaserJet MFP M281fdw, does not have any software updates available, and it doesn't.

Does anyone have any idea what to do?

Hi hartmut274,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities! We understand that you're experiencing issues with opening your scanner from one of your Mac devices.

For this issue, we'd recommend restarting your MacBook Air first: Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac

If you continue to experience the same issue, try deleting the multifunction printer then adding it again: Set up a scanner to use with Mac

Let us know if this helps.

Thanks!
