Personal Hotspot Tab is missing

I recently updated my Iphone 7 to ios 14.5, and since the update the personal hotspot tab has disappeared, and when I try to set it up, I get the message "Contact your carrier to enable hotspot" which I did and the hotspot is enabled from the carrier's side.

Then I updated the ios to 14.5.1, and it's the same.

I Tried to force restart the device, reset the network settings, remove the SIM card and put back in, and to enable and disable the airplane mode.

I would like to point that the cellular data is working fine.

None of the above has worked !

It's very frustrating

Your Help is much appreciated

So you may have a hardware problem

First try a forced restart

https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/force-restart-iphone-iph8903c3ee6/ios

If that does not help the  next procedure would be to backup then restore your device to factory, and setup the device without restoring a backup, to see if the issue is replicated.

Then restore the backup. If you need to send the phone in for repair then backing up and restoring to factory would be needed anyway.

Here is a guide for those steps

Backup and restore

(1)How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch – Apple Support

Remove SIM PIN if you have set one

(2) Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings – Apple Support

Set up as new from the Hello Screen without restoring backup. Test if the problem still exists

(3) Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

If that fails arrange a repair

There is some app or setting that is messing it up.

You still have the backup available so you could try a couple more things

Settings, General, Reset, Reset network settings

Settings, General, Reset, Reset all settings (that will reset more than you ever imagined was set including the home screens)

If neither work then its a big job to rebuild from scratch (2) but you would first need to export all your data and media for re-importing or syncing back separately.

I've tried that both ways.
I put my sim card in another device and hotspot worked.

and tried another sim card on my device that I know it has hotspot enabled and got the same result.

so it's not a carrier issue

Call them and ask them to re-provision the line anyway.

Of course, we're assuming you're using a supported carrier...

What country are you in and what carrier are you using?

Are they on this list?
