ipad update touchscreen issues

This issue started a few updates ago, and gets progressively worse worse with each update.

I have an iPad Air 2 just updated to 14.5.1.

Some websites and apps behave fairly normal. Others are nearly impossible to interact with (like this one, ironically enough). Either the screen is ultra sensitive and I end up clicking links unintentionally typing incoherent sentences, opening and closing different windows and apps, etc. There are also times where it takes several taps to make the action I want to happen. Often a single tap on the space bar will register two, three or ten times. Sometimes it takes five or six taps for a single space. Even the backspace is a pain at times. Scrolling through social media is a nightmare with posts opening and videos popping up like there’s someone else else controlling my screen. Autocorrect adds extra spaces after words, or none at all. There’s no consistency to the errors and every area of the screen will work properly at times and improperly at other times. This recent update has made my once prized device a point of frustration.

The device has never been dropped, screen broken or otherwise abused. This is definitely a software issue (yes, I’m that old and use old school terminology) as the issue only becomes worse upon update, not between.

To give an example of how my iPad is currently behaving I’m going to to type the sentence “Let’s eat something at the zoo.” below without editing it.

Let’s eat soomethiing at the zoo. Let’s eeatt sooomeething at thhe zoo Lets. Eat sometinnng. A the zoo.

anny. Suggestions?

This took way too long to write.
