Can anyone help me how to reinstate comms between Apple Watch 6 and iPhone 11 on iOS 14.5! All instructions I’ve found online don’t seem to follow steps (ie click activity in watch app then click a setting that doesn’t exist!!) awards are updating between the two but no activity!

No you won't lose anything,if you have apple pay you will have to set that up again that's all.
Health and fitness data is kept on the phone not on the watch.
