I FOUND A FIX!
Go to listen now at the bottom left, then click your profile in the top right. The reason you can’t share them is because you haven’t set up an actual Apple Music profile. Make that profile and you’ll be able to share again
Go to listen now then click on the profile icon in the top of right. After you do that click on setup profile. Once you do that just hit continue until you get the screen that lets you show what playlists you want to share.
None of the suggestions I found helped. Here’s what I did: I created a new playlist and copied everything from the one to the new one, which had the share option. Still don’t know what the problem is with the old one.
Why do Apple users need a third-party app to do what iOS did in previous versions?
Was not the reason Apple created iCloud was to share files, including a list of music files, between devices!? I own these songs, after all.
Please explain! Thank you!
Go to “Listen Now” in iTunes. Hit the profile icon in the upper right. Set up your profile and follow the instructions outlined in the posts above. Tough to find and not very intuitive. Thank you to the previous user posts.
I restricted my contacts and share playlists with my wife. I don’t think my friends or strangers want my favorite hits from the ‘80’s. Better to spare the world the deep cuts from obscure bands. :) Consider it a public service.
I just tried your recommendation, but I think you are assuming I have subscribed to Apple Music?
I have a playlist from tunes I own, I bought on iTunes, yet I cannot share between my devices!?
Please help!
I have 15.1 version of iOS, yet I do not see any Share option, after clicking on my playlist, inside my Music app.
Are you assuming I have signed-up Apple Music, because the playlist I want to share is NOT from signing up for Apple Music.
The playlist I want to comprised of songs I own, songs I bought from iTunes.
….not that it should matter.
Tapping 3 dots does not give a menu option for "show on my profile" anymore. Looks like they've taken this away in the few months since you offered your solution. No option to share playlist that I can find, even after subscribing to Apple Music and connecting with friends via Apple Music.
I'm running 15.2.1 and it looks like you now have to create a profile in Apple Music. Open Apple Music and click on "Listen Now" in bottom left corner. Then click on the profile icon in top right corner. Follow the prompts to set up your profile with Name and Username, add friends to follow, etc. Select who you want to follow your activity (Everyone or People you Approve). Select the playlists you would like to share and at the bottom turn "Listening To" on or off. From your profile, in the top right corner, tap the (three dots) "..." and select "Share Profile".
and how, exactly, does one do that? I've tried following the recommended steps listed above, and there are no visible options for that.
This stinks. I pay $10 / month, and can't share a play list with another Apple Music user?
Ridiculous.
How do I share my playlist, compiled from music I own, with the all the devices I own?... withOUT paying extra for Apple Music?
BTW.... I own all my music through Apple iTunes, so I should be able to share a playlist with all my Apple devices? RIGHT?
Seems like a straight forward iCloud request!...
Because of the iOS update and inability to share playlists made after 14.5.1, copy the songs from and older playlist to a new one, then rename it. Now copy the songs from your new playlist made after 14.5.1 and paste them into the older playlist made prior to 14.5.1. No you can share it.
I figured it out. You have to create a public profile and publish the playlists you want to share.
if you don’t have a profile, go to Listen Now and click the profile icon. Come up with a username and select the playlists you want to be public. The playlists you make public are shareable.
You have to set up your Listen now/Apple Music profile. Then add the playlists you want to share to the music you are sharing list. Just hit the listen now and click the person icon in the corner. Then go to profile and set up. You can skip the part where it asks you to invite friends and simply hit the continue button. After you do this you can share directly from that list in listen now.
This doesn't work. I have a profile. Sharing under “Listen Now” is different from sharing Library > Playlists. No matter what I do, there is no enabled option to share playlists I’ve created from my own library.
The share option is not there when you click on the 3 dots
