How to share your Apple Music playlist

Just spent 40 minutes, talking with three different Apple tech consultants, just so I could share my Playlist, filled with music I bought on Apple iTunes, from my iPad to my iPhone! Simple enough…. Right?

Evidently, I cannot share the list from my iPad device to my iPhone device, unless I purchase Apple Music subscription….

OR purchase an adapter, so I can plug in my iPad to my iMac to transfer my Playlist to iMac, them connect my iPhone to my iMac to transfer my Playlist from my iMac to my iPhone…. Really⁉️ 😖

What a crazy circuitous solution, that a 1980s databases could more easily resolve. So much for Apple’s elegance!

Tapping 3 dots does not give a menu option for "show on my profile" anymore. Looks like they've taken this away in the few months since you offered your solution. No option to share playlist that I can find, even after subscribing to Apple Music and connecting with friends via Apple Music.

Have you set up your Apple Music profile? See above for instructions on how to do that.

One can go also on apple music web side and do the same if you don't have MAC. On MAC or website sharing works without any problem.

I’m not seeing it. I’m using ios 15 and still have the share playlist option. Furthermore, it seems after I went to iOS 15 all of my playlists are shareable and fully resolved the problem.

I am also having the same issue. Share option is no longer there. All songs in playlist still able to be played in Apple Music so it's not an issue with a song that has become unavailable on AM. NONE of my playlists have the share option. iCloud sync is turned on.

Yeah I’ve had Apple Music since it existed! I know how to share a playlist it doesn’t exist any longe ••• the three dots since the 14.5.1 update! I did reboot my phone & it showed up for a few minutes & I was able to share a playlist & then it was gone again! Rebooting hasn’t fixed it since!!!! Lost lost Apple Music playlist Sharing if you find it please let me know return it to PUNK INC. at 867-5309 you got my number!!!

Go to “Listen Now” in iTunes. Hit the profile icon in the upper right. Set up your profile and follow the instructions outlined in the posts above. Tough to find and not very intuitive. Thank you to the previous user posts.

I restricted my contacts and share playlists with my wife. I don’t think my friends or strangers want my favorite hits from the ‘80’s. Better to spare the world the deep cuts from obscure bands. :) Consider it a public service.

The share option is not there when you click on the 3 dots

I’m having the same issue as well. With the 14.5.1 iOS upgrade, the sharing playlist feature is no longer an available option when I click the 3 dots.

Fred’s effort above to assist w a cut and paste is appreciated but problem not solved. If anyone can share how to share a setlist successfully following upgrade it would be appreciated.

I realize now you just can’t share any playlist you made after the 14.5.1?update! But you can share playlist you made prior to the 14.5.1 update! Now the question is why & I can’t answer that?

Hello. The only option i get when I hit edit is to add more songs. I do not get “show on my profile and search”. Any ideas?

This worked for me! But pretty annoying that this is the only way to do it.
