Just fixed this. On the Playlist you want to send:

  • Hit the three dots (ellipsis) on upper right corner
  • Hit Edit
  • Then "Show on My Profile and in Search" toggle will show in middle of screen; select it
  • Hit Done

The "Share Playlist" option should now appear when you hit the three dot ellipsis.

If you haven't set up your Apple Music profile you may need to do that first. To do that, go to your "Listen Now" page on Apple Music, hit the Face button on upper right and follow prompts.

I think sharing our playlists on our Apple Music profile is the price we now pay to share them...but you can control who sees your Apple Music profile by hitting Edit on your profile homepage and selecting "People You Approve" under "Who Can Follow Your Activity".

I have the same problem and none of the listed solutions work, or appear possible for me.

First of all, I am looking to share a particular playlist (that I have had for years, and somehow just up and left my phone). While other playlists have the share option, then particular playlist does not. It's not the only one. Several of my playlists are shareable, and several are not. I suspect this is the problem that many other people are having. And I also suspect that this

Other things. None of my playlists have an edit option that I can find. I DO have a profile.

Feeling very frustrated with apple at the moment. Spend thousands a year on apple devices, music, films, series etc and want to be able to share playlists and get an icloud account so can easily upload music and movies etc that I purchased through iTunes (not Apple Music subscription) and I cannot through my phone or iPad’s. Only way is through my MacBook. Apple has always been the best operating system because it catered to users needs. It is failing to do so to satisfy some level of greed. I.e. have to buy a MacBook or a subscriptions to get any functionalities. If they keep this up users will move to more user friendly operating systems.

Okay Apple… thanks to your idiotic updates that come out all the time and don’t actually do anything unless there is a phone launch…. I am unable to simply share a playlist through your over glorified Apple Music app. I would appreciate a direct reply.

I am contemplating why I even switched back to Apple given YouTube Music was the same amount and had more music. I simply have your product because of FaceTime and iMessage. Figure out your product and fix it.

thank you!

It is so unlike Apple to make something extremely simple - like sharing my playlist between my devices - into a circuitous nightmare! I spent over 45 minutes on AppleCare and had to bother three different technicians!

I thought iCloud was invented…. to simply resolve synchronizing, between all Apple devices!?

What happened to Apple’s elegance! 😖

I have 15.1 version of iOS, yet I do not see any Share option, after clicking on my playlist, inside my Music app.

Are you assuming I have signed-up Apple Music, because the playlist I want to share is NOT from signing up for Apple Music.

The playlist I want to comprised of songs I own, songs I bought from iTunes.

….not that it should matter.
