Boolean Searches in iPad Mail?

It appears there is STILL no boolean searches in iPad Mail. This makes it near useless as a notebook replacement where boolean (and advanced) Mail searches are essential for finding specific emails.

I have to go to my MacBook Air every time I have anything more than just a basic (and recent) search for an email.

Do others experience this limitation with iPad email? Ditto for iPhone as well. Anyone at Apple?
