What if I discovered I bought fake AirPods from a store

iPods seem like fakes. iPods each have different serial numbers “GM***JNL” on left AirPod, and right AirPod has “GF***JNR” and the case is showing serial number “DL***MMT” if they are fakes and I bought them at a store in the mall (a phone repair shop) what can I do about it?

Find the serial number of your AirPods - Apple Support

With AirPods (2nd generation) and AirPods Pro, each AirPod also has its own serial number, printed on the AirPod itself. If you need to send your AirPods or charging case in for service, refer to the primary serial number, printed on the case lid. You don't need the serial numbers on the AirPods.

there are so many 1 st copies made these days that its difficult to tell which ones are Orignal and which ones are not. However, the fake ones show incorrect battery percentage every time you open the case. I guess since you bought it at the mall yours should be Original.

Hi, i would suggest please dont provide your personal details.

From what you are saying, i am now convinced that your airpods are fake. Why don’t you set up an appointment with a apple expert and show it to them, they will be able to verify it. These days, even the serial number on the box and the case is verified even for the fake ones as some companies are copying serials from the Original ones and printing the same on the whole batch.

if apple confirms they are fake take your receipt and go to the shop where you bought them for, make a noise when people are around and ask for a refund.

btw did you buy it on the 2nd of May- as shown in the check coverage provided by you. If it doesn't match the date on your invoice then something is fishy.

Also, my question to you is- WHY DIDN’T YOU BUY THE AIRPODS FROM THE APPLE STORE?

Hope this helps

Thanks, I bought them about 8 or 9 months ago and don’t have the receipt any longer. It was a spurt of the moment purchase I had a screen repaired at the place. We have no apple store on Maui. I know I blew it. I’ve kinda had issues the whole time with them. Thanks. My question really is can they get in trouble for selling knock offs at this place?

Hi, no apple is not responsible for products not bought from them or from their authorized resellers. If you don’t have a apple store in your country there is nothing you can do, but you can still call them and ask for assistance- like i said earlier, they can help you clear any doubts you may still have. However, you cannot prove your purchase from the shop you bought it from as you don't have the receipt, and apple wont get into this.
