Email not working from iPhone XS with Afrihost

My email isn't working for my website host domain address, from my iPhone (Mail). Its set up and working on my MacBook. The hosting company, Afrihost, have provided me with all the server settings but it is still not working. They suggested I contact Apple.

Please could you assist me?

Hello Flysurfer1,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like you’re unable to use a mail account in the Mail app on your iPhone. We’d be happy to help. To better understand the issue, we’d like to ask a few questions.

Could you please provide some more details about what isn’t working?

Are you unable to send and/or receive mail using that mail account?

Are you seeing a specific message when trying to send or receive mail?

Do you have other mail accounts (different domain/provider) added in your Mail app on your iPhone? Are they working?

We’d recommend trying the steps in the following resources:

If you can’t send email on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you can't receive email on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If your email service provider confirmed the settings for your account, you can also try to remove the account and then set it up again. Check out the steps under the section titled “Remove your email account and set it up again” in the resources provided above.

Take care.

Flysurfer1,

Thank you for providing those details!

Since the Mail app is updated with the iOS software, have you verified that your iPhone is running the latest iOS version?

Are you getting the "Cannot Send Mail" message with only specific recipients or all? Have you tried sending a test email to yourself to see if it sends and delivers?

And just to clarify, when you say you “reset the account” did you remove this mail account from the app entirely and set it up again?

Have a good day.

Hi chris_g1,

Thank you for helping me with this.

It seems to only be the outgoing mail messages that are not sending from my device. I do receive emails for the same address. This is the message I receive.

I have spoken with the service provider and we have tried different outgoing mail server settings but none of them worked.

I do have other email accounts, mostly through gmail and they all work fine.

We have reset the account before but this did not solve the problem.

Again, it works from my MacBook so it seems to only be an issue with my iPhone XS.

Many thanks
