App worked okay until latest update 14.5.1

Now will not work at all. Says developer needs to update software for it to work.

Is there any way of retrieving what was in the vault ?

I have almost 15G of data stored in App Calc+, which is now inaccessible. I have cutes, videos and important documents. We purchased this App through the Apple Store platform, so Apple is responsible for that. It can't just throw all the responsibility to the developer. We need to put pressure on Apple they need to find an urgent solution!!! And respect your users.

This has nothing to do with it. I paid for the app and I am in the same situation. I have the newest iPhone 13. Brand new MacBook Air. Still getting bent over. I have crypto passwords, wills/trust docs, pics from my childhood...unreal how Apple takes zero responsibility. Possibly class-action lawsuit if I don't figure out how to get my information back intact.

I have photos and documents on my device that I cannot access. I have been following this thread for a few months.

We all want our private docs and photos back, but clearly that is not what Apple does. Apple has a store and people can access apps from their App store. They didn't create this app and the app only used to sit on their platform.

If anything is going to get changed it will be somehow getting the app developer to fix the existing or update the existing version to allow everyone to get their information...................somehow notify everyone to get their crap off the app or make copies of it and then shut it down at some future date.......

I know a number of people have tried to reach out to the developer and have been told they do not have the bandwidth to work on this app.

Where do we go from here?

too lost years of important docs, photos, and videos. This is not a developer problem, this is an Apple problem. Apple removed the Calc+ app from its store and did not notify or warn it’s customers, even though Apple readily accepted my payments for the app.

The app continued to work on my old phone. I bought a new 13 pro max last week and that’s when I first found out that Apple had removed the app without warning. They were more than happy to take my $1,000+ for the new phone bragging about its new features, but not a word about the app or that I would lose all data saved in it.

I spent several hours on the phone with Apple Customer Support, having to request higher and higher level personal. All said the same thing: sorry. Very frustrating!

Unfortunately, this will not work for many of us. My problem did not arise until i purchased a new phone (13 Promax). Since the app cannot be loaded onto the new phone, there is no data to backup to the laptop. Apple erased my old phone as a part of the purchase of the new phone, so unless the developer will provide the latest of whatever was in its server at the time that Apple discontinued allowing the app, then we cannot retrieve the data.

Again, Apple should have warned of this when it discontinued carrying the app; and again when Apple sold the new phone to me.

Apple sold the app to me, Apple collected the annual fees associated with the app, Apple sold the new phone to me, so Apple has the responsibly to get with the developer and do whatever it needs to do so that its customers can retrieve their important docs, photos, and videos.

Apple, what are you going to do?

No, I got a new phone and iCloud copied the app and data over along with everything else. It wouldn't launch after I upgraded iOS but fortunately I didn't delete the app, waiting in vain for the developer to release an update. Then I found this page. Meanwhile Apple happily renewed my annual subscription :(

I tracked down the website of the calc+ app developer and sent an email, but no response so far. The email address is info@onewave.se. Would love to know if anyone else has had success.

Apple, who is the real cause of the problem, does done NOTHING!. Really really disappointed. I spent several hours with Apple's customer service and all I got was canned responses as to why they are no help at all. I encourage all to file complaints with Apple. Maybe with enough complaints, they will do something.
